Richmond Terrace
Location:
Richmond
Architect:
Robert Nichol & Sons
Designed by Robert Nichol & Sons this project involved a complex demolition of much of the internal structure of this early 90’s solid brick house originally designed by Allen Willingham. This complete redesign of the entire layout created a three-bathroom, three-bedroom house with a generous study and rooftop terrace with views over Richmond, the Swan Street sporting precinct and the botanical gardens.
The project was packed with strong features, from the bold entry wall with feature timber battens creating a curtain-like effect to the burnished and heating concrete slab in the rear living area. Dark tones and muted colours give the interior a tranquil mood.

Project Details

“Our renovation involved the complete gutting & rebuilding of our double-storey, inner-city home within the existing four double brick walls of the building. It involved considerable work to meet engineering & our architects' requirements.
With his design background & extraordinary eye for detail, Nick was able to identify & proactively deal with any potential issues that may otherwise have arisen in the course of the build. Nick was very committed to our renovation. He took complete ownership of the job - it was as important to Nick that the renovation be perfect as it was to us & the architects. He was rightly proud of what he managed to achieve.
Nick kept within the time frames agreed for the completion of the project. He is incredibly congenial - able to get along with everybody involved in & impacted by our project. Nick must be the tidiest builder ever.
We could not recommend Base Construct higher.”
