1930’s Apartment Extension

Location:
Prahran

Architect:
MIA (Mark Irving Architecture)

This project involved some very intricate demolition work, as it involved the removal of multiple load-bearing brick wall supporting the apartment above. In addition to this, a number of new door opening were cut into other sections of solid brick load-bearing walls. Careful planning & consultation with the engineer allowed this to happen without any problems or movement to the apartment above.

The High ceiling & continuous highlight window give the impression the roof is floating & allow an abundance of natural light to flow into the new living area & dining areas
